In Comer’s book, he goes through all those practices of contentment and puts Paul’s words - “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” - in that proper context. Simplicity, moderation, contentment, etc., all describe the Christian life, and Jesus set the example first. It just feels like the anti-climate activist/pro-climate side is implicitly making an argument for excess, and that is counter to virtually every biblical teaching.
