A Quick Note on Tucker v. Everyone
People are afraid to say the thing.
Hey everyone. This is a lightning-quick Jackal, so we can do a quick preview of the elections tomorrow and also talk about Tucker Carlson hosting Nick Fuentes on his show.
Let’s do the election stuff real fast.
There are a lot of elections happening across the country tomorrow, but the three big ones are in New York City, Virginia, and New Jersey. Spoiler: The Democrats are winning all three.
Virginia is the most important one because historically, the Party that wins the Virginia governor’s race wins the White House in the next election. Of course, we have seen a lot of these historical “indicators” get blown up in the age of Trump, but keep that little tidbit in your pocket.
The Republicans had a good opportunity in New Jersey, because the historical indicators there would suggest that a Republican is due for a win. But Mikie Sherrill has led in every poll1 and Democrats have been crushing Republicans in the early vote. For Jack Ciaterlli Ciatrelili Ciaterrali Italian Guy to win, he’d need to have a big Election Day vote.
And that brings me to the funnest part of this Jackal: It is extremely hard to motivate former (sorta reluctant) Trump/Republican voters when Trump’s approval is looking like this:
That is insane. People are more upset with him now than they were in January 2021. If you want to say that’s just one poll, look at the averages of all polls:
Things are not great for him. He’s currently polling lower than Joe Biden did after the Debate Disaster of 2024™. Trump is losing a lot of support and it is hard to motivate people to vote for Republicans when the President is this unpopular.
So, that’s why these races won’t be that close. Zohran (inshallah) is going to win and so is Abigail Spanberger,2 the question is just by how much.
Also, a little ragebait for my liberal friends: If Trump were truly going to suspend the elections in 2026 and 2028 and declare himself a dictator for life…why is he letting the Democrats win tomorrow?
Tucker Carlson hosts Nick Fuentes.
OK, so I wanted to do a quick note on this because it has captured a lot of attention on the Right. In case you missed it, Carlson interviewed Nick Fuentes on his show, and because of who Fuentes is, a lot of insane things were said. During the show, Fuentes said he loved Stalin and Hitler, openly admitted to being a White Supremacist, and said “organized Jewry” was controlling the U.S.
It was a standard Fuentes soliloquy, and Tucker never pushed back. I almost hate to link to him, but Ben Shapiro’s takedown of Tucker and Fuentes is really worth watching:
There has been a ton of ink spilled on why Tucker hosted Fuentes and how it relates to the bigger debate about “audience capture” on the Right (there is lots to be said there), but no one wants to say the quiet part out loud.
So, why did Tucker Carlson - a man who used to regularly appear at debates with Rachel Maddow and had a show on CNN - host a known Neo-Nazi? Say it with me now: Tucker gets a paycheck from Russia.
It’s not at all hard to say, and everyone who works in media knows it. A few weeks ago, Tucker also interviewed Elizabeth Lane, a Georgian (the country) “journalist” known for her anti-Western views. Before Tucker interviewed her, she had a couple hundred subscribers on YouTube and less than a thousand followers on Twitter. I wonder how he found her?
Lane is openly pro-Russia and works in Georgia to foment a pro-Russian narrative. By happenstance, Tucker plucked her out of obscurity and gave her a huge platform. Lucky for her!
A few people in media have started to say the dirty secret out loud, but I don’t know why Shapiro is so hesitant. Surely he knows who pays Tucker. But one reason may be that foreign payments to American commentators are becoming increasingly common, especially on the Right.
I have no allegiance to anyone, so I will say it out loud: Russia pays Tucker Carlson and everyone knows it. Don’t believe me? Just ask a certain Prime Minister, who said as much under oath. The reason Russia would want Tucker to interview someone like Fuentes on his show is because it creates chaos (that I’m sort of contributing to!), which is exactly what they want.
I’ll be back after the Elections.
OK, Jack led in one poll done in September. But there have been 42 polls done in New Jersey since May, and Sherrill has led in all of them.
Jay Jones is running for attorney general and he may lose amid his violent texting scandal. But I would bet on him crawling to a victory. And if any Republican gets upset, just roll your eyes; when Donald Trump is the head of their Party they are not actually upset about a few text messages.
